The Alliance is a community of more than 2,200 health practice education professionals dedicated to accelerating excellence in health care performance through education, innovation, advocacy, and collaboration.
Founded in 1975, the Alliance is the recognized leader and trusted partner striving to close gaps in health care delivery by translating the best science and knowledge into effective professional development. Alliance constituents and stakeholders include the broadest universe of medical, clinical, pharmacy and other health care professions, including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, technologists, and technicians, among others.
Members also include representatives from academic medical colleges, hospitals and health systems, medical specialty societies, medical education companies, government entities, and pharmaceutical and device companies.
The Alliance affiliated entities--the Foundation for CEhp and the Coalition for CEhp--provide resources and channels for innovation and advocacy in the fields of continuing education in the health professions.
The National Learning Competencies developed by Alliance members promote health care quality improvement through practitioner learning outcomes. Further, the Alliance provides education consistent with the standards of numerous accrediting bodies, including the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, American Nurses Credentialing Center, Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, Food and Drug Administration, HHS Office of the Inspector General, PhRMA, and AdvaMed, as well as state and other organizations. Compliance with these standards helps ensure that education is based upon unbiased, scientific evidence.
