American Board of Medical Specialties Launches New ABMS Continuing Certification Directory

PR Newswire (01/22/18)

To improve the quality of healthcare through setting professional standards for lifelong certification, the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) has unveiled its new Continuing Certification Directory intended for both Continuing Medical Education (CME) providers and Board Certified diplomates seeking Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit. The ABMS Continuing Certification Directory, formerly known as the ABMS MOC Directory, provides continuing certification resources for diplomates and CME stakeholders. It offers a more intuitive user experience and improved search functionality through enhanced search criteria, an ability to filter by provider, and inclusion of various resources. Activities indexed in the directory are approved by one or more ABMS Member Boards and incorporate the core competencies assessed for continuing certification, as well as reflect the latest best practices, evidence-based guidelines, and educational initiatives designed to support the development of high-functioning physicians. The directory currently indexes some 600 activities from more than 60 CME providers nationwide for ABMS Member Board diplomates.
