Proposal for Modifications to Joint Accreditation Criteria

Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (07/27/18)

Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education is accepting comments about two proposed changes to Joint Accreditation Criteria. Under Joint Accreditation Criteria 1-13, the organization is proposing small changes to ensure greater precision and transparency. Based on queries and responses from survey teams and providers, one advised change is to eliminate Criterion 11 and add an improved variant of that criterion in the Menu of Criteria for Joint Accreditation with Commendation. Regarding the Menu of Criteria for Joint Accreditation with Commendation, jointly accredited providers have expressed a desire for a way to receive recognition, which would help raise the value of interprofessional continuing education (IPCE), spur further development of IPCE programs, and recognize providers who "implement exemplary practices and generate meaningful outcomes." The organization is seeking comments about the criteria and the menu structure from jointly accredited providers and other IPCE participants. Feedback can be provided via an online survey to be submitted by Aug. 31, 2018.
