Alliance President Bob Addleton, EdD, CHCP, FACEHP has been on the road lately. On November 11, he presented “What It means to be a CME Professional Today to the 2016 meeting of the Southern California Medical Education Council at Cedar-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles. On November 17, he made the same presentation to the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for CME at their meeting held at Leigh Valley Health System in Allentown, PA. Close to 70 CE professionals attended each meeting.
The essence of the presentation emphasized four points:
- As a profession, we need to recognize the incredible value we bring to healthcare before we can communicate that value to others outside the profession.
- We need a cogent, simple, powerful description of what we do and the value we bring.
- We need to align ourselves with solutions to the value-add problems that our organizations address.
- The Alliance exists to help us all “move the needle” toward greater professional development.
