Ms. Bruner has been serving as the Director of Continuing Medical Education for Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas since 2000. Prior to this role, she served as the Director for Physicians of Sugar Creek (Family Medicine Residency program at Memorial Hermann) and as the Nurse Manager with the Methodist Family Medicine Residency program in Dallas. Her clinical experience includes medical /surgical nursing, critical care and chronic and acute hemodialysis.
Ms. Bruner has been an active member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions since 2000 and has served on the Board for the Alliance since 2011. She is an active member of the Texas Alliance for Continuing Medical Education and has served on their board in the past as President and Treasurer. She also serves as a member of the Subcommittee for Accreditation for the Texas Medical Association.
Finding ways to incorporate quality improvement into continuing education for healthcare providers is a key focus and interest to her because of the benefits it brings to organizations, teams and ultimately patients.
