  • The Basics Pre-Conference Workshop:

BASICS Workshop 2020 is designed for those professionals at entry level in continuing education in the health professions. Whether you have been in your position for one day or two years, you will leave the Workshop with tools and techniques to immediately implement into your daily professional practice to improve your performance within your organization. Attendees will be given resources with which they can assess their competence and plan for career growth in CE.

The Workshop will offer novice focused “How To” mini speed rounds to answer your “burning questions”. The “How To” mini speed rounds will be highly interactive. Attendees are encouraged to bring examples and questions from their own work place. Adult learning and accreditation will be included in the curriculum. Attendees will have an opportunity to work in small groups led by an expert facilitator using cases to plan/review an education activity. The Workshop is an excellent networking forum for those individuals new to their roles. You will make contacts with colleagues that will provide you with continuing support and friendships that will last a lifetime!

  • Diving Into A Grants Alligator Pit: This energetic shark-tank style session will bring together "alligators" (a panel of grantors) and allow participants to work in small groups using current examples to submit a grant request and subsequent outcomes report for a hypothetical activity to the "alligators."

  • Best Practices by the Accredited Provider, for the Accredited Provider: What does best practice in continuing medical education mean to your program? What benchmarks do you and your program use to determine educational success? Learn from a group of educational practitioners as they share examples where programs have endured challenges, yet celebrated success.

  • Designing a Scholarly Workshop: From Needs Assessment Through Program Evaluation: This workshop is designed for anyone interested in broadening their understanding of various learning theories that inform the development of programming to influence practice change and involved in any stage of educational design from needs analysis through program evaluation.

  • Certified Healthcare CPD Professional (CHCP) Exam Preparation Workshop: Earning your CHCP certification not only signifies your commitment to the profession but can be a valuable career asset. It demonstrates you have the experience, education and competence to design, plan, conduct and assess educational interventions for health professionals. This course, held in conjunction with the Alliance Annual Conference, will help prepare those considering seeking certification by covering the four primary test domains linked to the National Learning Competencies in an engaging, interactive format. A panel of certified CME/CPD professionals will lead case-based discussions on each section and provide ample time for discussion to address challenges and controversies.
