Committees play a critical role in shaping the strategy, programming, and member experience of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. These volunteer-led groups provide leadership, innovation, and insight across all areas of our organization—from education and research to finance and diversity. Explore our active committees below. Alliance Industry Summit (AIS) Committee

Plans the AIS event to meet the CPD needs of the Industry Alliance for Continuing Education (IACE) Member Section. Responsibilities include program design, session planning, faculty recruitment, and keynote selection. View job description.

Almanac Editorial Committee

Oversees editorial direction of the Almanac—writing, soliciting, and reviewing articles that align with professional interests and editorial guidelines. View job description.

Annual Conference Planning Committee

Leads the development of the Alliance Annual Conference educational program, including session topics, formats, faculty selection, and learning needs assessments. View job description.

Awards Committee

Manages the annual nomination and selection process to recognize outstanding CE professionals. Honorees are acknowledged at the Annual Conference for their leadership in improving patient care through education. View job description.

CHCP Commission

Advises the Board on all aspects of the Healthcare CPD Professional (CHCP) certification process, including development and oversight of the certification exam. View job description.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

Drives inclusivity efforts within the Alliance by addressing systemic challenges, advancing career and leadership opportunities, and representing diverse voices in healthcare education. View job description.

Finance Committee

Supports the Board in maintaining the Alliance’s fiscal health. This standing committee drafts the annual operational budget and oversees financial strategy. View job description.

Membership Committee

Focuses on member recruitment, retention, and engagement. Helps build community through both virtual and in-person initiatives, including member sections and special interest groups. View job description.

Nominating Committee

Identifies and vets qualified candidates from the membership to serve on the Alliance Board of Directors. Oversees the annual nominations and elections process. View job description.

Professional Development Committee

Guides the Alliance’s educational strategy to ensure relevance, quality and alignment with National Learning Competencies. Includes the Annual Conference Planning Committee and the Alliance Industry Summit Committee. View job description.

Identifies knowledge gaps and supports study design for research that measures the impact of healthcare CPD. Promotes evidence-based insights that improve learner outcomes and system performance. View job description.
