The Alliance Leadership Institute is designed as an immersive, year-long experience, not a program you can simply show up for and absorb while multitasking. It pairs a structured leadership curriculum with peer learning in a Community of Practice setting, so what you take away depends directly on what you are willing to put in. Throughout the year, participants take part in a pre-conference kickoff, bi-weekly virtual sessions, a peer buddy partnership and a capstone project, each of which calls for preparation and active involvement.
Selected participants are expected to complete all pre-work, attend and fully engage in every session, and bring their full attention and intention to the experience. The Institute works best when each member gives as much as they receive, contributing to the learning of the cohort rather than only drawing from it. We ask applicants to weigh this level of commitment carefully and to apply only if they are ready to make the Institute a genuine priority for the year ahead.
Who Should Apply?
CPD professionals who are ready to advance their leadership skills and prepare for greater influence within their organizations and the Alliance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an active Alliance member in good standing with membership dues paid for 2027.
- Must have been in the healthcare CPD field for a minimum of five years.
- Must currently lead programs, departments or organizations, or must aspire to advance into leadership roles or responsibilities.

$1,500/participant
Application Process
Interested participants must submit an online self-nomination form to provide the following information:
- Professional experience
- A personal statement to discuss why you are interested in the program, your perspective on leadership and how you hope to grow with this experience.
- A current CV or resume.
- One (1) letter of support from someone who can speak to your leadership experience and potential.
- This may be a colleague or supervisor from your workplace, a member of the Alliance or someone from another organization where you have served in a leadership role.
- The letter should highlight your strengths, contributions and capacity for growth as a leader.

Selected Participants Commit To...
- Complete all pre-work before each session, prepared and ready to contribute.
- Attend and actively engage in every session, cameras on and multitasking set aside.
- Participate in online discussions, the peer buddy partnership and the Community of Practice.
- Invest the time with intention and apply the learning to real work.
- Give as much as you receive, supporting the growth of the full cohort.
Participants will be given a peer partner to help them build cross-sector relationships and community. Participants will be matched with their peer partner at the beginning of the program.
Requirements to Graduate
- Attend the full day, welcome session at the 2027 Annual Conference
- Complete a Capstone Project and present at the 2028 Annual Conference
- Fully participate in the monthly sessions
- Attend 75% of all sessions
- Participants will be expected to pay their own travel expenses to attend the conferences.
