Continuing professional development in healthcare is constant, but also constantly evolving. As digital advancements as well as research and innovation in healthcare expand, the CPD community must evolve just as quickly to ensure clinicians can translate that science into even better patient outcomes. If given the opportunity to serve on the Alliance Board of Directors, I would like to expand the reach and representation of various healthcare professionals, bring innovative deliverables to our members for how they receive their information and interprofessional education and empower the younger generations to share their voice and take action within the Alliance community.
As senior director of scientific affairs and outcomes at Pharmacy Times Continuing Education, I lead content development and outcomes measurement various therapeutic areas within pharmacy. My work is grounded in my background as a pharmacist and in Moore's Outcomes Framework, designing pre/post assessments and key performance analyses that demonstrate real change in clinician competence and, where possible, patient care. That same rigor and ACPE field review experience shaped my work leading ACPE reaccreditation efforts, critically evaluating our educational formats and outcomes data against national standards.
Beyond content and measurement, I've focused on developing the next generation of CPD leaders. I built entire curricula from scratch for our students that translates our organization's editorial and business-development expertise into structured, mentored learning experiences, work that requires balancing rigorous standards with genuine flexibility. Precepting and mentoring students and fellows is one of my strongest passions, and I see it as inseparable from the Alliance's broader mission: empowering the future generation of leaders in this space is one of the most durable investments our field can make.
Earning my MBA pushed me to deliberately strengthen my understanding of the strategic and business side of our field, an effort I've continued sharpening every week for the past 18 months. That work has given me a genuine appreciation for how digital advancements, approached with creativity and a willingness to think outside the box, can spark efficient change and process improvement and for putting the right tools directly in members' hands so they can implement their own ideas rather than waiting for change to be handed to them.
If elected, I would bring forward specific priorities: Expanding awareness of the Alliance and adult learning principles among those not yet familiar with our work, strengthening quality and performance-improvement initiatives and helping members access practical tools for innovation. I lead with clarity and approachability, listening closely and making sure the people I work with feel genuinely heard, while staying comfortable navigating ambiguity and pivoting when circumstances demand it. What I offer is a track record of asking rigorous questions about whether our education actually works and the discipline to act on them. I would be honored to bring that same standard to Alliance governance, to learn from this experienced Board and to help carry the Alliance's mission forward.
