I would advance the Alliance’s vision and mission by bringing a public health–grounded, outcomes-focused perspective to CPD, coupled with a deep commitment to health equity, diversity and inclusion. My career has been shaped by the belief that CPD is a form of public health, with real-world consequences for patients and communities — especially those who have historically had less access to high-quality care and education. In every role, I have focused on designing and implementing education that not only changes knowledge and competence, but also addresses inequities in who benefits from that learning.
One key experience that prepared me for board service is my leadership in educational strategy roles where I oversaw multi-therapeutic, interprofessional programs and robust outcomes assessment. These roles required me to align educational design with adult learning principles, quality and performance improvement, and business realities, while ensuring that programs remained learner-centered and evidence-based. Another defining experience has been my work in governance and nonprofit leadership, including board service with Medical Minds Matter, where I help guide mission, strategy and sustainability. These experiences have honed my strategic acumen, change management skills and ability to balance vision with practical execution.
A core thread throughout my work is a passion for addressing health inequities and advancing DEI. I am consistently looking for ways to create inclusiveness, bring in voices that are often marginalized and provide opportunities for those with less access—whether that is advanced practice providers, community-based clinician, or stigmatized and underserved populations. I actively seek to understand the challenges that stigmatized groups face and to embed those insights into educational priorities, faculty selection, case design and outcomes frameworks. I also routinely look outside our industry — to public health, adult education, technology and other sectors — to learn from approaches that are already working elsewhere. I want the Alliance to stay ahead of the curve, using ideas and evidence from beyond traditional CPD to ensure our efforts are as innovative, effective and equitable as possible.
As a board member, I would bring this combination of strategic thinking, entrepreneurial mindset and equity-focused lens to help the Alliance lead the CPD community into a more inclusive, outcomes-driven future.
